On the occasion of Ram Navami on Wednesday, April 21, most banks across the country will be closed. Every year, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) publishes a holiday calendar that specifies when all banks in India will be closed.

The decision to designate such days as holidays was made after taking into account three categories: Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
